need help resetting bmw computer - mississauga/ON

hi

I have a 2004 bmw 320i. i need some help to reset my bmw computer. i have heard that this can be done using the code reader. sorry i am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars

basically my sticker is expiring tomorrow since is my birthday today. my car did not pass the emission test and my engine check light is on. "i believe its due to my O2 sensor". the reasons stated for not passing is below:

DTC Description
---------------------
P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temp for Closed Loop Fuel Control
P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Tempe)
P0442 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (small leak)

if someone can please guide me or help me reset the computer. i was thinking maybe it would take care of the engine light and sensors. Then i could take it back to get it re-tested and hopefully it would pass.

i am in Mississauga around square one. i would really appreciate the help.

Sounds like you possibly need a thermostate and maybe a gas cap for the evap code. After you get the codes cleared you have to drive the car for a while so you don't get a not ready status when you go in for your etest

Thanks blk3

Do you know where I could get the codes cleared today hopefully.

The only other option i have is to pay 140$ to canadian tire to get it inspected tomorrow. If the total cost is estimated more than 350$, I can get a conditional sticker.

These new e-test rules are really strict :@

Even if you get the codes cleared, you will most likely get the "not ready" status on retest! But you can still get a ONE year conditional pass, I just did my car this week!

hi - thanks all.

there is a provision to get an extension of 10 days for sticker renewal for $15.

I got the code reset - it took care of the engine light. Also no other error codes showed up.

I am advised to keep the tank full and drive it for a couple of days to make sure everythings ok before taking it for a retest.
