they are crap, if you just want looks than maybe it's ok, but don't expect any performance out of them, I heard too many bad reviews about them, lots of people say your stock setup might be stiffer than Raceland, also the welds are pretty crappy, lots of people on the VW forums bought them but the tab that holds the sway bar links keeps on breaking off because of the bad welds, what do you expect for $200.

Thanks for you input, I'm hoping to spend less than $1000 on a set, is there anything you would recommend?

I'll let a E30 member answer that, I don't know what a exactly good setup for an E30, I normally recommend Koni yellows with H&R springs, but like I said, I'll wait for a real E30 owner to chime in on this topic, I just wanted to warn people about Raceland suspension, having a few friends that bought them & regret them 2 weeks later just shows you how crappy they are.

Are you dead set on coilovers? There's lots of great spring/strut combos for that price-- and you'd even have Anouilh left over for some bushings

Konis are expensive but awesome. Also heard good things about billy sports but no personal experience. I have my rear Koni yellows for sale that can cut down the price . IE3s are also great for the $$

Replacing crap with crap won't net good results.

Save a few more hundred and check out BC Racing coils, they have some nice housings without the need to cut or modify anything. Also comes with camber and RSMs, can't go wrong with those.

^ Actually, for an e30 you have to cut the strut tube and weld on the BC strut to the knuckle. I have no personal experience with that though, just going on what I've seen on the interwebs (r3vlimited).

Yeah having the threaded sleeve to adjust the height of the strut body is a nice feature on the BC set-up.

JOM coilovers seemed to get okay reviews last I checked, they're cheap (400-500 iirc) and they're made in germany. May be worth looking into check r3v for reviews. I'm running Billy sports and eibach springs, no complaints so far, decent drop and very comfortable but stiff ride.

I highly recommend BC coils, can't beat the ride quality and features, your going to be spending a little more then a 1000, but well worth it. I've tried a bunch of different setups, if i bought an e30 tomorrow and needed another set of coils I wouldnt consider anything but BC's.

My car is daily driven at the height in my sig, did 25,000kms last season, love them!
