4 Door friendly content here! Project No-Name-yet
Hey guys, some of you may have seen this same thread on r3v for the past few weeks, ive been on max since may when i got the car probably and managed to make it cruise worthy by the end of the season max cruise and i did manage to come out meet a bunch of you e30 guys in our fall cruise with my 3 style 5's . So since maxbimmer has been more resourceful and inspiring to me than r3v i had to post the thread here for you to look at and give me some feedback. so here she is, my second car ever, my first BMW and first 5 Spd car as well..
the day i picked it up and quickly rinsed it for pics
Its a 1990 325i, i picked it up in may, bone stock from an older gentleman who was a subaru tech and maintained the e30 VERY well, he was the second owner bought it in 1994 which made me the third, had 258k on it i believe, everything was original pretty much except for some ghetto-rigged but very well matched subaru front seats and a cup holder LMAO, timing belt was done, waterpump was done, it sat at the end of his driveway with a for sale sign for a while, it was in mint shape with veryy minor rust on the fenders which are changable and its 5 speed but the sunroof didnt work at the time, so i made him a firm offer which was lower than his price and he took it (thank god lol). It passed e-test first shot and needed next to nothing for safety my mechanic passed it, so i knew right away I found a good one, so the million dollar journey began.. lol
this is after i got it on the road, went over to my buddy's and threw in an 8000k HID kit, and then went to the car wash.. right after i took this pic, buddy with an e46 comes up to me complimenting its condition and asking if its for sale, i said "sorry man i just bought it"
After that the coolant light started appearing on occasion, and i noticed a coolant leak, my mechanic mentioned that it would need a new waterpump when he inspected for safety, so i knew it was time to get that done.
After that i traced and fixed a rough idle problem with the help of george from simplycars. then i ordered little things i was missing like the foglights
and this is after i replaced the fogs, repainted the scuffed up lip and got french style film for the high beams.. and car wash again lol
then as soon as i started to go crazy with buyin parts, i got injured and couldnt work for 2 months (my luck of course.. ) so i painted my iX flares and front lip myself, got a set of redrilled style 5's, refinished them my self and just kinda put it all together before the season was over..

flares + bottlecaps = puuuke
i can fix that
a tip for you guys looking to polish/refinish your wheels yourselves with no real tools for it.. Don't do it.. it was a massive pain in the neck but they turned out okay..
i did fix the overspray on the caps and lips after.. i was just excited to take pics of the finished product
after weeks of driving with only 2 on (saving up for the spacers to clear front calipers- told you i was broke at the time lol) i finally got them all on and this is pretty much how it sits today
so now that I've been back to work, i have since, picked up a donor e36 (Mclovin') who i will be abusing for its M52B28 and ZF and swapping (OBDII) into my e30 with a few mods, upgrading the e30 suspension/brakes and fixing up the body a little bit more next spring, Alex from ACP (who is also a member on max) will be doing the overhaul work, he's an e30 guru and i've seen alot of his great work, so im excited to see the results!
McLovin:
driving the e30 to storage/get swapped
the part collection building up
feel free to comment with any feedback, criticism or tips for me, or even just to tell me how much you hate the wheel color and that its got 4 doors, cuz i've heard it before .. LOL

4 doors are lame. Coupes are less lame.
Just kidding, my first one was a coupe. Let me know if you want to buy my minty leather and houndstooth interior.

You worry about getting the bottom 1/4 of your car painted before it turns complete grey and completely rusts off. Or leave it grey to draw attention away from the trailer hitch.
I like the colour of the rims, but they're having trouble jiving with with yellow highs & fogs and orange side markers. I say keep that colour though. If every basketweave was silver... we'd have a bunch of silver basketweaves.

Thanks man, yeah they're def not going silver, if anything i'll change it up with another wierd color, but i hear what you're saying about matching the fogs and all which was my original intent, but id like to get euro trim at some point when i start working on the body again this summer, nd i also wanna shop for some smoked smiley's and smoked turn sigs maybe so i'm not too sure whether the highs are staying or not, but they're there for now lol what i also dooo want is that trunklid you got for me, and i'm actually dropping mclovin' off with a bunch of parts this saturday, so i'll try to make a mental note to grab the trunk lid off the e30 while im there too! then we can meet up sometime after and ill grab it, say you got a spare euro plate filler sittin around you wanna sell me with it so i dont have to order one ? maybe even that sick one you have on the vert

Blk3- thanks man, I've heard it before they're deff not everyones cup of tea, but the color has grown on me so it stays for now..
Maxbell- sedans are awesome dude, not that I put the back seat into much use since I'm like 6'2", but I doo enjoy the 2 extra doors and 2 extra windows for practicality. I'm rly looking for a black leather interior, but pm me some pics and how much you're asking and you never know we could work it out..
DaveR- thanks man, yeah I'm running stock setup, lowering is one of many things on the list for this summer
Supernaught- thanks man I'll try and keep you guys posted as more gets done

Looks like your plans are moving along. It's going to be nice to see what comes out this summer from you e30 freaks lol.
I should have started working on mine months ago, but just no time.
