I recently bought an e36 m3 and brought it right to RMP (as advised by max members) about a week later.
I went in for an oil change, rust proofing, new battery, and to have them check out the car in general. As I'm waiting, one of the guys came and told me "this car should not have passed safety". My heart dropped. He brought me into the garage and they showed me that the wheels had excessive play.
It turns out the ball joints, tie-rods, and sway bar link were all damaged.
I immediately called the PO, and we eventually agreed upon a resolution for him to pay for a large portion of the cost.
Moral of the story... get your cars inspected at RMP before purchasing. I moved down to Niagara but will still drive up to RMP for any work needed. Nobody else will touch my car.
Thanks to Rocco and the crew for everything.
