reliability of the 135
Looking into purchasing a 135i
Does anyone know of reliability issues pertaining to the 135?
Please people who own one (135 or 128), comment on any work/maintenance/repairs that you've had to do.
Thanks!

You're in the wrong forum. Not many 1 series owners hanging out here. Try bimmerfest, bimmerpost, or 1addicts.

HPFP, Injectors are the norm on the turbo engines other then that no real issues. Are you buying new 2011?

hi Randy
I have a 2011 135I-M and I just love-it.
Even if some M3 owners think that it's a WOMEN car.
I had a 2009 328IX before and I was not very happy..........lack of power mostly.
That car is just alot of fun to drive.

the car is a lot of fun to drive, a lot more than the 328, even though i would go with 328 for practicality.

Currently I have 2011 135 and 2010 128, both are lots of fun to drive and both give you that sporty feeling. Reliability wise 135 gave me a few headaches in the first 5 month. Vanos motors, had to change them twice, car sat in the shop for 6 weeks. other than that runs nice. Last month took it all the way from Toronto to Key West, fl and back total 6000 km. I also take it to the track every other weekend and drive it real real hard. Not a single glitch. 128 gave no trouble so far

Friend's son has one. Lucky it's under warrantee.
One week water pump bit the dust, month later the turbo was toast, Just had drivers seat replaced as it was falling apart( he only weighs180#)
These are just the things he complained about so not sure what else has been done.

The hpfp issues are long gone now. And any engine that had it, chances are it has it replaced under warranty. Injectors are the same thing.
1 series are known for the tail lights failing, but again warranty and probably replaced
135's are a great car. Probably one of the few cars I would buy is a 135 m-package 6spd. Amazing car and pretty reliable when taken care of. Main thing with the N54 and N55 is oil changes, if you keep up on inbetweeners (10,000km) you won't run into the carbon issue that negligible owners see.
Performance wise, Dinan stage 2, Cobb or JB, it will run with a M3 (e9x) no problem.

Did some research of my own as well, as me and the girl are looking to trade our MS3 in for a 2010 Deep Sea Blue on Beige 135i auto w/paddles. Didn't really get to test drive it much but just wondering what are you thoughts on the price of the car.
2010 BMW 135i
Deep Sea Blue
Beige Interior
Sports Package
about 50k total.
The Dealer wants around 27k just under for the car.
