Hopefully the auto insurance reform will have the expected impact and help bring rates down.

The most notable change is a $3500 cap to minor injury payouts (was previously uncapped and widely abused)

However it will most likely take a while for the companies to review their claims data, determine the impact, and adjust rates accordingly.

Is that like the banks slow to cut their lending rates but quick to raise them?

Didn't they increase significantly from 2009 to 2010?
