Problem with L/100 guage
Hey my L/100 guage isn't working properly, when i'm on the gas the needle goes right to the max, and when I'm I let off the gas it goes down to 0, never stays anywhere in between. My tach works fine, as well as my speedo, temp guage and fuel guage. Any ideas as to what it could be?
Thanks in advance!!

Stop matting the gas peddle. :-) When you start the car it should go past 20 to the far right. as you press and let off the gas it should move towards the zero and fluctuate with the amount of peddle you put down; as you accelerate the needle moves left and should be around the area approx 10-12 litres to 100. and level off unless you let off the gas or press the peddle more. but this needle does move around quite a bit unless you are on the highway.

Yea I totally understand what it should be reading, but if I have any throttle at all it goes max, and if I'm off the throttle it's zip. Just wonderin if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone has any suggestions, I've got no problem pullin my cluster apart

are you saying any amount of throttle it goes to the end? what about when you give it throttle driving and the gradually back off but still be on it. In park I know what you are describing does that- normal. but while driving check it.

I've had this problem and never bothered to address though it was kind of annoying....
What he's saying is, his fuel consumption either reads 0 or max, never anything in between, as soon as you touch the gas it goes to max and STAYS THERE unless you remove your foot from the pedal, than it goes to 0 and STAYS THERE.
Sorry if that wasn't clear enough, I have no idea what causes but I will chime in to say that I as well experienced this problem.

once in a while this'll happen to me. Hasn't in a long time though. I think it only happened on really cold days. when that happens i usually just turn the car on and off after it's warmed up. its magic

Have you tried smacking the dash with your hand and telling it to behave?

How long have you had the car? Has it always done this? Your car may be chipped.
