Exclamation Driver Door Won't Unlock?!

Hi folks,

This is with the OEM BMW Key.

So my driver door won't unlock. If I want to lock the car door from the driver door, it'll lock just fine.

If I want to open or lock the car from the passenger or trunk it'll do it just fine.

I can't even turn the key to the unlock position, it will let me go to the unlock position with the key though.

If I fiddle with it, 1/10 if that will unlock the driver door.

I do not have keyless entry at all.

Any suggestions / help would be much appreciated!

Common problem, its the KEY!

Use your back up or spare, thats what I did with my e36 when it happened. I know the feeling, jiggle left to right, wont move, feels hard then sometimes does, mine ended up not working to lock or unlock period.

If you dont have a " good " key your sol besides getting a new one.

Blackedout95: Funny thing is right when I posted this issue I went and tried the spare key, and it worked just fine. Time to go to the stealership(dealership) and get an extra copy made.

Thanks for the input though!

Cheers.

Forget the dealer, just dont lose that one key lol

My car had remote locks so I almost never used the key. When my remote(s) died I was lazy to get them checked or new batteries so I started using the key. The key stopped working within months so the wear is not from the door locks but rather the ignition, was the only place i was putting the key lmao
