East end (Durham) meet up
So I was thinking of talking to one of the pubs/resturants with a good size parting lot in Durham about allowing us to do a Sunday afternoon meet up/cruise in. Was thinking of getting it going for April 5th, hopefully the weather is good for then. Make it a monthly thing, or more often.
Anyone interested or willing to help, and any recomendations about where we could do this let me know.
There seems to have been intrest in this by a few East end people on some other threads.

Yea im down - can't think of a pub with a big enough parking lot but we could always start from the durham college parking lot as a last resort.

I thought of Durham, but think it would be better to have food and beverages for all ages, and the parking lots to high traffic, weekend classes and bike training during the summer. think there is an "on the rocks" on Simcoe at Beatrice, or "the Edge" in Ajax.

Great idea Rich. I'll pitch in my 2 cents here FWIW.
I used to do a lot of late night parking lot cruise ins with the Camaro. We used to swarm a Tim Hortons for a few hours have a few coffees then go out cruising. Sometimes downtown, sometimes up North, then meet at another Tims. Sort of like an impromptu rally.
The problem with cruise ins, is that they never "cruised out" lol!
I'm up for this but personally would rather drive than sit and chat. Know what I mean?

They e30 meets usually take place at Port Union/401, on rylander in the Canadian Tire plaza parking lot.
There is a Wimpy's there where we'd usually grab a bite to eat after a cuirse thru Twin Rivers and the back roads.

I'm in
I vote the Ajax Canadian tire parking lot.
It's large lots of other meets happen there. Well lit at night for checking out cars.
There's a timmies and a montanas.
Not to much traffic, very close to the 401
Plus anywhere else it will cost me 30 bucks in gas to get there
Some of the m5 forum guys are trying to get east end meets going.
If it's cool with everyone I can pass this off to everyone??

East meet sounds like a good idea. The Edge in Ajax is a good spot too.

I'm down for an east end meet. It's about time we set something like this up. I think Ajax would be a good area cause then you would get some members from pickering and scarb coming out to the meets.

Ajax sounds pretty reasonable, AMC is good too, I know lots of people don't like it due to the popularity of it, but as long as no one does anything stupid we would be alright.
Are we going to grab dinner and stuff? I'd be down for a beer and some food at around 6, then whoever doesn't want to eat can just show up at around 7 or so and we can shoot the shit and possibly go for a little cruise.

The Amc in whitby parking lot is getting smaller theyre building some new shops. But tha being said theres still lots of parking on the south side. As for cruising after theres not to much in Whitby as far as fun roads. So for meets i think amc would be good but for cruising ajax has some better roads. my 2 cents.

I stopped by On The Rocks on Simcoe today and am going this weekend to talk with the owners, the place is amazing, has a huge patio that over looks the parking lot, with garage style doors that open to the inside. Great menu too!!!! Parking lots is a good size. The location is easy to find, and lots of great back roads just a little north for cruising. Will keep all posted.
