DIY: Installed my M3 Lip
Ok,
I recently installed my stock lip on my M3 bumper. My pics are not that detailed, but I'll try to explain...
First off, open the file named "M3 Bumper". This is the diagram from realoem.com and shows all the pieces.
#23: Lip x 1
#14: "Front Screws" x 8
#25: "White Plastic Thing" x 8
#24: "Side Screws" x 4
The White Plastic Things are slipped into holes just under the front of your bumper. You slide them in and turn 90degrees to lock. Then you hold the lip up and screw through the holes in the lip into the White Plastic Things.
My bumper came with the proper holes along the front to accomodate the White Plastic Things (I think Premium Package M3 bumpers were holeless and are a pain because you have to drill your own holes).
The problem was that my holes weren't big enough to accomodate the White Plastic Things. So I had to carefully dremel the holes big enough to fit....
So what I did was:
1. Dremel holes a bit larger
2. Insert White Plastic Things and turn 90degrees
3. Line up the lip and mount the screws through the holes in the lip into the White Plastic things
Voila - it's installed!
Now there are just two screws on either side to do (haven't done this yet).
See attached pics for a better visual...
