A cheap bolt on upgrade would be a single mass flywheel from an e30 325i... I'm guessing that you'd want the clutch kit and throw out bearing for the e30 as well.

Thats why I initially was inquiring about finding an E28 M5 flywheel. Do you know if there is any difference between an E28 M5 flywheel and one found in your average E28? Is a used flywheel a safe thing to buy? or would I be better off getting an E30 flywheel and getting someone (Randy?) to lighten it?
How much would a setup like this cost? am I looking at over $1K?
