Lag, in the traditional sense, is unaffected. You will have a higher volume of air between the impeller and the throttle body, which will take slightly longer to compress (it acts like a spring) but the effect is very, very small.

It is more important to have one that has a nice air path and this one looks ok, though all things considered you'd want one with more, shorter paths than fewer, longer paths for less pressure drop from constriction.
