sometimes shifting at 2k is too early, I wouldn't shift before 2500. optimal 2500-3000 if your slowly accelerating. when you shift at 2k, your RPMs drop to 1500-1700 and the car would be struggling to keep up and thereby probably needing more fuel to keep up.
I had huge issues with my o2 sensor, i was getting 20L/100 which was crazy... I changed it and back to 23 AVg with a 325i and occasional pulls
