The pipe to be welded needs to be bent. Its not as easy as you think. have a look underneath and you will see what i mean. Also the tips are separate and come out of each muffler (there are 4). To reuse the tips would look ugly IMO

Have a look at the thread and you will see the stock set up and what you need to do to have the mufflers deleted.

this is what someone else did on the board. neat idea, no weight savings or nicer tips though...
