You shouldnt have to drill any holes in your subframe. If it's a 3 series just get some nutserts from the dealer.

Correct. I put one on my 325i 2 years ago. The holes were already there, but you have to buy the "nutserts" from the dealer. Do a search and you'll find a technique on how to install the properly. I had to buy one extra because I messed one up.
Also, I had to grind my x-brace a bit because the holes were a touch off... could just be my car though.
