That's almost already the trend now. Generally speaking I think, the higher the model the faster it depreciates as a percentage of it's original purchase price. 5 series depreciates faster than a 3 series, and 7 series faster than a 5 series. A similar condition 530 would be priced similarly to a 540 on the used market right now. And I haven't actually done the math or anything, but I would suspect that say a used 330 on the used market is not as much more than a 325 as it was when they were new.
