I don't think it's hideous, I think it's the only other acceptable looking car in the current BMW lineup after the 3 series COUPE, especially with some eyebrows so that it doesn't look like a cringing, bug eyed 8 year old taking a cock in the ass for the first time. But I still think it's a fail. It's significantly smaller than a 3 and not significantly lighter (90 lbs officially). It has E30 pretentions but it's not an E30. Just get a 3.
