The specs for the 67M (18" and 19") for the e46 M3 isn't working

I used 1010tires.com to compare the offsets of the stock 18" rims with the recommended 17" winters and they weren't matching! However, the parts guy at BMW didn't say anything about "spacers" so I'm not sure what advice I should follow

So frustrating this stuff...

EDIT:
So I googled it (couldn't find the offsets on any of the 6 forums I searched) and got:

18"
Front: 18 x 8 ET47
Rear: 18 x 9 ET26

19"
Front: 19 x 8 ET47
Rear: 19 x 9.5 ET27

17" Winters
Front: 17 x 7.5 ET47
Rear: 17 x 7.5 ET25

How are these tires supposed to be interchangeable without affecting the dynamics of the car (e.g. wheel bearing/whatever) without the addition of spacers?!
