That's because 235/45/17 is oversized, and 245/45/17 is OVERSIZED.

225/45/17, 235/40/17, and 245/40/17 were the factory sizes. All 25.0" or smaller in diameter. The 245/45/17 you like is over half an inch bigger (which is huge).
