Oh, I picked up a kit from Pelican using the Z3 shifter with new bushings. I should have bent my shifter to keep the original gear placement but I'm happy with it and the cost was very reasonable.

I've been reading up on it on understeer.com, It looks like I need the M roadster shift lever to get a 35% reduction in throw on my 328, I'll have to bend it though.
Did you buy the Pelican bushing kit? $90 in bushings seems like a lot.
