resetting window motor
 

Can someone help, I need to reset the window motor in my E36. The window is now down and will not go back up. I have disconnected the battery for 5 mins and tried pluging everything back in. I have tried disconnecting the battery with the top plug in and the bottom one out, still nothing.

I know I have to disconnect the battery with something plugged in but can't remember what, can someone tell me.

The motor might be gone. Try it out by running direct voltage to it (to bypass switches, fuses, wiring problems). If still nothing, give us a call for a window motor, should have it in stock!*wave*

Agreed.. Best way to reset it is to run direct voltage to it.. Make the window go ALL THE WAY UP.. next time you use the switch it should go down and back up no problem.. If it still won't go back up then it's your switch...

got it working, thanks everyone. Does anyone know how to adjust it. It is about 1/2 a cm too low, getting some wind nosie.

do you have a 2 door? is it still going down when you lift the handle for the door and back up when the door is closed? You may have to do as i said ^^^

It is a 2 door and it still goes down when I lift the handle and back up. I just need it to be 1/2cm higher.
