Intrest in subframe Re-inforcement ??
I have been noticing lately that many E46's have been coming in with rear trunk floors / subrame mounting's being broken or torn out.

How many people here would be interested in a group buy in the re-inforcement kit and install?

I am working with a metal fab shop on making a bunch of kits similar to the turner one, and will be able to offer these installed for a great price.

Installing these kits need to be done properly, and by a very good welder to have proper strength when installed, and we have installed many in the past few years. Check out our website to see the kit installed on a e-36 which is very similar to the e46.

How many people would be interested in a group by for this?

E46 2000 323i here no issues yet but is in future plans when its time to do the drop next yr! Any prices set yet for install job??

skru_fase 09-20-2007 07:38 PM

depending on pricing...

RMPMOTORS 09-20-2007 09:41 PM

The price is approx $650-$750 with the parts and install on both E36 and 46.

It is better to do it before it rips out. I did one today on a E46 that was completly torn out on the L/R and it was a big PITA.

was this problem fixed in the later "facelifted" e46s?

the rear feels solid now, thanks guys..

RMPMOTORS 09-21-2007 01:37 PM

I don't believe it was "Fixed" the trunk floor is still made of the same thin sheet metal that is easily prone to cracking!

where do we check?? i cant even tell where the hole is. Do u have pictures to where to look. ppl tell me to life up the trunk floor mat but wht do i for all i see is the spare.

To properly inspect, the car must be inspected from the bottom of the car around the subrame mounting points to the body!

Im gonna have to get my Turner kit installed with you guys when the cold weather comes in, so I can install it, then store the car.

does installing the reinforcement kit void your warranty? I know it would strengthen it no matter what, but does BMW approve of this?

RMPMOTORS 09-21-2007 10:32 PM

BMW may not cover the section that the re-enforcements are on, but you won't have to worry because there will not be any cracking if you install the kit before hand.

I have installed the Turner kit many times, its a great kit!
