Anybody have an AC condenser?

For an E36 328?

Or know where I can get one?

Thanks.

Ask Jeff he seems to know of places that carry these...

I think i might have one for you, assuming a 325 condenser is the same

Jamil20 05-22-2007 10:41 PM

I think they are the same. Someone else can confirm?

Yes all the same condensers from the 318 to the M3.

Woo hoo. Makes the search easier. Apparently I need one too. Now to find an evap/drier.

Jamil20 05-24-2007 11:43 AM

That's a good point. Is it really necessary to change out the drier/receiver? I imagine mine has been exposed to the air for quote some time considering it doesn't hold vacuum. :)

Make me a decent offer for that condenser. Its aftermarket and was used for like 2 months before i parted out my car.

Anyone know what shipping would cost from Toronto to Ottawa?

Jamil20 05-24-2007 12:36 PM

Who makes it? I read somewhere to avoid Valeos, but no reason given.

Soldo 05-24-2007 01:02 PM

Not sure who makes it but i know for a fact its NOT Valeo, since i'm familiar with valeo products.

Drier/receiver is just a aluminium can full of desiccant, never done it but think if you just put it in the oven for a little while to dry out all the moisture it'll be good as new again after.

Condenser is installed. Found the leak and a 50 cent O-ring could have done the job I think. The brackets where the hoses plug into the condenser was just caked in yellow dye from when I was testing it.

Something to note, taking the bumper off these cars is easy as hell. I was avoiding it because I didn't want another piece of my car to have to reassemble. The job was a breeze with the bumper off.

Next up is pressure testing. Need to find a vacuum pump and the time to work on the car again.

Wow Jamil20, sounds like you're going to be the go-to guy to fix a/c in the o town. :) Care to examine my two non-functional a/c units?
