Interior cleaning

What do you guys use to clean the interior of your cars - dash, instrument panel, gauges, etc? I have used the Simoniz wipes with success however I have also read that it is not good to use any chemical based wipes especially on the instrument panel area because of the LCDs and electronics in that area.

I have also used a damp cloth in those areas... but what do the experts suggest?

Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer is really good, you can get it at Canadian Tire.

Honestly, the thing I use is just a swiffer thing to go over all surfaces. I don't use any chemicals as they tend to give it that fake, shine and really makes the car look old. A good cleaning yields wayyy better results.

I use a damp microfiber cloth to clean up the interior. The products that make the dash shine actually make the material fade in color and crack in time.

I agree, a damp microfiber cloth is usually all that is needed, and no im not a spokesperson for meguiars, but i gotta give a thumbs up to the quik interior detailer product. It leaves a perfectly matte finish which is perfect for the BMW dashes and still protects from the sun with a light UV coating, try it sometime you will be surprised...

what about carpets and such? now that winter is almost over i wanna clean up the interior carpet from all the salt and shit

^^^^^
For your carpets Use a carpet shampoo and to remove the salt stains use warm watter in a bottle that you can spray on to the areas that have salt stains on them let it soak in for a while and use a brush to lift the salt from the carpet and then you will need to use a wet dry vac to suck up the watter and then use the carpet shampoo with a brush to clean your carpets and then vac the interior as for cleaning the dash i like to use a damp Chamois and a microfiber cloth to wipe the dash i also like the BMW leather cleaner to use on the dash and and steering wheel this stuff leaves the same finish as new dash and it also leaves a matte finish for your leather use a leather cleaner and conditioner and a small soft detail brush is good to use on the interior also

LOL so I was helping my wife clean out her car today and she stuck her salty as heck carpeted floormats in the washing machine (against my wishes) but I gotta say, it came out fabulous!

try this one: for older stains, combine 2 tablespoons detergent, 3 tablespoons vinegar, and one quart warm water. Work into stain and blot dry. After that cover the spot with a clean towel or paper towels. When the towel becomes damp, replace it with a dry one.

hope it helps.. :)
