Speakers aren't working need help
92 325i
i just put a deck and there is no sound so then i hooked the speakers directly to the deck to check if they were working and they were fine so i don't know why there is no sound when i hook it up to a harness.. if any body can help me that would be great.

does it have a factory amplifier? some stock audio systems have a small amplifier built into them - you have to provide some sort of turn-on power to it before your speakers will work.

On mine, it is on the left hand side of the trunk, if you are looking into the trunk. There is a carpet lining aorund your trunk, you have to peel it back, to reveal this:
Attachment 64220

That big black square to the left is your rear speaker. The black box to the right is your amp.

ya i found the amp but how do i provide some power to it and how do i know if there is power coming to the amp.. sorry i don't know much thanks for your help guys

ok you bought a wiring harness for the new deck, right? often there's a blue/blue-white wire in it, that is described as the 'amp turn on wire'. look on the back of the harness to see if either of those 2 wires has a corresponding wire in the stock harness. if one or both of them does, then try turning the car to acc. and jumping one of those blue wires to +12. if you get sound, then great! wire that wire to the amp turn-on wire of the new deck. if it doesnt work, try with the other wire.
