i have an 84 318i, do i need to buy a turbo meant for my car or can i get a turbo from another car all together? if so what are some cars that came with a turbo?

turbo-ing a 318, especially a e30, doesn't make much sense anymore.

stick a s52 odb1 conversion in there, you'll have more power than you know what to do with.

s52 or s50, pretty much the same thing

an s50 (technically an s50b30) is the m3 motor out of the 95 m3. The s52 is the s52b32 out of the 96-99M3.

Call/PM bruce (his company's name is Luxtec, one of our sponsors). Ask him for one of these motors. (for a mint one will cost you about 3500-4000$.

Then call RMP motors (conviently located 13 feet away from Luxtec) at 905 951 0002.

Tell him you need a s50 swap into an e30 (if you get a s52, you'll have a little more power, however, the swap will be tiny bit more expensive, cause you'll need a OBD1 conversion) So if you get a s52, get a ODB1 conversion, and you're set. All in all it will probably cost you about 5K. And then your car will be faster than e46 m3. And you and NickP can stand around talking about how hardcore you guys are.
