Whats the "E" for??
what does the E in E46 stand for the model type what?
E stands for Entwicklung (German word for development)
And this is where you can find almost all the E numbers with the cars they represent: http://www.bmwworld.com/repairs/codes/vehicles.htm
wow... there's finally a site stating what divisions each bimmer is in the e and a number... been wondering that for awhile...

That's weird, on that site it says the Z1 falls under E30. Maybe because of the m20.... But then there are other series models that share the same engine..... hmmm |
