DRL Removal?
I should be getting some euro ellipsoids with CCFL angel eyes soon and I want to remove my DRLs right now they are full power lows so I can drive with my fogs/angel eyes on in the day time and turn on my lows in the night. I know i am going to have to wire a switch for the angel eyes, that I dont mind but I want to know if there is a way to remove the DRL using the existing switch/wiring.
Thanks:cool: |
Nevermind did a search and since mine is pre-96 the only fix i have is to wire a switch for fuse 25
|
hmm not sure about the pre97 cars.
but for 97+ u just need to get the US Relay from the dealer. switch it out with our canadian one and ur done. no cutting wires or anything. |
yup, low always come on pre 95 I think or is it 96.
anyway, just go to radioshack and grab a switch and wired it up to fuse 25, place the switch on where the heater switch is. |

ONce in a while...I do like the STEALTH option - when I'm creeping around at night doing my 007 stuff!! |
Very cool. I've been toying with the idea of doing that myself, but i'd have to remember to always put the low beams on. Just out of cursoity, what is the DRL unit called. "headlight relay"?
|
can't you just unplug it from the DRL module ?

Lurkers everywhere!!
My damn lights should have been here by now, but they aren't yet, so I have similar concerns. So mine is 95, and I want my 1. AE's on ALL THE TIME when the car is on with the headlight switch in the off position (substitute DRLs) 2. No original DRLs 3. Highbeams to work when I need them. How should I go about this? |
