Yoks ES100
Well, after doing some simple internet searches... here is what I think I might go with.. Unless someone can give me a reason.
Size: 225/50/16 Yokohama ES 100 Vs. Hankook Ventus K104 Both are 280/AA/A rated Any recommendations?? Want to do some hard street driving in the summer, and may be 2-3 lapping sessions at shannonville. Shane |
I had the ES100's for over a year. They're awesome in the rain and decent in the dry. I did my driving school with them and they were good. For the price I can't really complain. Once they got old they got a little noisy, but then again most tires do when worn. I'm pretty hard on my tires (drifting, useless brake and G tests) and I was suprised they lasted so long actually. I did over a full season of auto-x on them aswell.
If i was on a budget I'd definately get them again. I'm addicted to Toyo T1-S's at the moment.... |
For the Es-100, every body says they are good price... what is a good price for 225 50 16's, so for i've got CAN$179/tire. installed...
How much did you pay for your set?? And any recommendations on where I should be getting them?? I am seeing them for like US$86/tire online!? Thanks Shane |
Well, I got mine from 1010tires.com, they're $179.99 for the 205/50/16 (about $810 shipped, taxes included), but not mounted.
I paid a grand for my 235/40/17 ES100's. Search around locally, you might be able to get a pretty good deal. |
Well, getting my set of ES-100's installed this wkend. 225/50/16. I think I got a fairly good price...!! CAN$165 installed.

Shane,
Is that $165/installed including tax??? If so...that's a very good price. Where ?? |
Got the tires installed toady.. NICE... I paid CAN $155/tire plus $10/install. plus Tax.. Got em from Active Green & Ross Located at the south end of Promonade Mall, i.e. South/West of Bathurst and Center St. (North of Steeles). He's got some more in stock if anybody else wants em. Talk to a guy named Rohan (owner), and mention moi name.

Nice tire, a little too expensive for my blood 1010tires is $249 a tire CDN $1109 shipped to my door for 4...ouch Cheaper paying in us funds...it comes up to 800.46 Cdn for 4 tires not shipped |
I went with fuzions because they were rated just a hare better overall against the es100's by tire rack. They were just a little worse in the dry, but just a little better in the wet. They were cheap too, so far so good.
Check the comparo: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...&tireModel=ZRi |

Same boat here, I'm going with the Yoko es 100. 225/45ZR17 for my car I'm payin $950 Here's what I paid for: the 4 tires (obviously) Mounted Balanced, That tire recycling tax an Alignment. Oh and taxes are in. So here's a question...The guy called me and said they are a W rating, but I thought a ZR tire is a Z rating.. Jay(mystikal) can you explain this to me. Thanks |

Thanks man *th-up* W has a faster speed rating then Z...like I need it anyway, car tops at 208km/h redline and with my new 17's I'd be lucky to hit that. |
