Headlight Washers - Useless?

Okay, most of us have headlight washers, and I find them totally useless. So much to the fact that I leave the resevoir empty.

If you're going to keep your car clean, they're probably the worse thing to use, they spray washer fluid all over your hood.

And do they keep your headlights cleaner? Not really.

They would be useful in the winter, if,the heat of your headlights didnt' melt the snow first.

Useless?

Paul540/m3 12-08-2004 02:51 AM

gimmick

they actually do help, but you prolly need them like once a year

also road are pretty clean here, so its not as useful as in some places where roads are dirty

Would you say they're more usefull than useless? or no?

if you drive up to Quebec in the winter, your lights will get caked with salt and slush and hardly any light will get through. They are probably useless any city south of Quebec where we don't get as much snow, whereas over there, it'd be slushy 98% of the time all winter.

BUT, spray nozzles by themselves are useless, they are not strong enough to spray all that crap that cakes up off...you have to have the little wipers to go with them- like on Volvos and Saabs...the Swedish got it right because they drive snow all the time...

Sunapollo 12-08-2004 04:17 AM

exactly my thought gamite ... it's useless ...too bad I cant control whether to use the washers or not

I have the sprayers on my Z as well... completely useless.

On my father-in-laws Benz though, he has the wipers, and those do actually help.

jmalixi 12-08-2004 09:01 AM

Totally useless... Not only that, it's a pain in the ass to fix. Next time the telescopic piece breaks, I'll disconnect it.

Quack 12-08-2004 09:26 AM

useless & breaks almost all the time, Fil those headlight wipers still work? if they do that will be very rare :D

Justin e36 12-08-2004 09:58 AM

they look purdy.
but don't have them so I can't comment.
