Back at Bimmercruize, we were talking about rough idling... look at what I just stumbled upon....

Had the exact same problem with my 318is. They changed the idel control unit about 5 times, and that's about it. Then just gave the car up.

Thanks for the link MPRESSION. I think it was a little over a year ago, that I brought the idling problem to the attention of the stealer and they did the following:

exact excerpts of the work they done:

"0000005 DIS/MODIC TROUBLE SHOOTING
39 WB"

"1214520 REPLACE PULSE SENSOR"

"112-14-1-743-072 TRANSMITTER"

"112141748398 E34 O-RING"

I have no idea what these refer to, but it hasn't stopped the rough idling. I did replace the OEM spark plugs to Bosch Platinum +4s, and that seemed to minimize the rough idle, but it's still there once every blue moon.
