wow i was surprised... i was drivin down 1 of 2 of the "street racing" streets we have here in oshawa and 3 guys in a grey gti pulled up. stock, euro spec tails and shaved everything. he kept lookin over and chaning lanes. so at a red light i said why not. i reved it to about 4 and dropped it. to my amazment hes front was right at my passenger window. i dropped it in second and pulled about a half car length away. when i hit 3rd it came to a car lenght and stayed that was for the rest of the race. i didnt know they were that fast, i was very amazed.

yea a VR6 has 200hp and the 1.8T has 180 (or 170)

VR6s are quick! however 1.8ts are slow, i raced one or 2 and beat them easily
p.s. raced an alero today and he didnt lose by thaaaaat much.. how much HP do they have?

2.2L 140 hp I4
3.4L 170 hp V6


the 1.8T are slower but are easier to tune cause they already got a turbo

Slow?? no no!! They are very fast...I tell you this because we have manys Golf GTI 1.8T here, many of them chipped, and one of them appart from chipped a nice boost controller..he told me he can beat stock Subarus Impreza Turbos....@20 PSI I did a race the other day againts me in my turbo bimmer @8 PSI but I won in this case...they are not slow as you think my buddy

Mike... The 150hp 1.8T's(2000-2001.5) are slower than the vr6's, but the 180hp version(01.5-04) are quicker than the 174hp vr6's, and only slightly slower than the 2002.5+ 200hp vr6's.
Both the 150 & 180hp versions can be made to hang with/beat stock e36 m3's, with bolt ons tho.
As for the race... you said there was 3 guys in it... If the driver was alone, he would've probably won.
There's a kill story on bimmerforums where a 330CI loses to 2 GTI's in the same night... they were chipped tho :)

canadian vr6's have 175 -180 hp no more then that not 200 and for all you guys in GTA DO NOT RACE THIS ONE :confused:

12v vr6's have 174hp.
The new 24v vr6's have 200hp and 195lbs ft

I think that blue one is a vr6 turbo... It runs 11's... not sure if it's the same car tho
