Here's my first winter shot. This pic didnt turn out as good as I would like. I've heard that the best time to shoot is before 10 in the morning and after 2 in the afternoon. This shot was taken at about 1 pm.

Looks nice, IMO if the piled up snow wasn't there it would look much better...

It adds a dimension of realism, highlighting the severe weather we're having this winter. It looks just fine with the snow piled up in the foreground.

Nice Picture

Exposure looks right etc. My only suggestion, never put the horizon 50/50 to the frame. 70/30 is ideal. Composition is king.

Thanks, I'm in the process of learning and I have a long way to go. I just read at DP Review somewhere just the other day about the horizon never to have it in the middle. Thanks for the advice as all my future shots will reflect that.
