Help! I've got a major situation with the e30

Okay, I filled up yesterday and came home and parked the e30 and was going to put it up on the ramp to fix or take off my rattling heat shield.........
When I came out I noticed liquid dripping from behind the drivers side door......By now there was a nice big stain on the driveway and it is gas.........
I jacked the side of the car up to look under and one of my lines has a hole in it and the side of the gas tank where it is welded is all rusted away and gas is escaping from the tank.......
Now, I managed to stop the leaking fuel by raising the drivers side up so the gas wouldn't flow out. I don't want to start the car in case I blow up and my mechanic isn't open till monday nor is the dealership.......What should I do?

cover the hole with some fiberglass and resin untill you can get it over to the shop

i'm not 100% shure but i think that's the quick fix

Canadian tire should have something to quick fix your problem.. you can always wrap a rubber hose around the gas line and clamp it lightly to plug the hole.

These are all things i would do with the toyota.. but not my bimmer

weld ur fuel line :D
LOL
im kidding DO NOT DO THIS. . .
lol

sorry i just said this cuz of one of the morons at my school suggested that he do that to my friends car which was leaking fuel

if theres no way u can wait to go to the dealer, then just get something quick to fix it up from can tire like someone previously said
good luck

If its a slight leak I wouldn't worry too much about driving it in for repair... just take it easy on the smoking :)

New gas tank???....

now I guess I would just walk to Can Tire and buy some repair kit

I had the car towed over today to my mechanics but he is closed till monday, I am selling the car, so I want to make sure everything is in tip top shape before I sell. The gas tank is in great condition just along the seams need to be welded or something.

Whoa???? I would never use a patch kit on an oil pan, what happened if it broke while you were driving and youe engine seized as a result of the leak?! I would just go for the new oil pan.........

Its a somewhat slow leak. Jons here now and asks if you have 1200 dollars for him to get a new one installed.

Well Jon, I guess if it is a slow leak it's alirght, I can't understand how a new oil pan is $1200.00???!!!! Oh well, the way I look at it is if you can't afford the maintenance then you shouldn't be buying the car which is exactly why I am selling my e30.

There are so many parts cars around on this board alone that I am sure you could get a used one and not pay 1200.00$*th-up*

Its the labour actually. You have to remove the steering rack and lift the motor a tad.
