impreza WRX sti vs e46 m3

hello

which do you think would top the 0-60 faster? wrxSTI all wheel drive or the e46 m3???

i know in most of the mags it gave the m3 a lower 0-60, but i want to hear it from you guys. also if you raced one of them, please say here how it went.

btw, i know after 100 km the sti is nowhere compairable with the bmws; just tell me what you think about these two cars.

2001 m3 around 5.1 secs 0-60 and 5.6 for the suby 2001 wrx (not sti)

pbjaxson 11-13-2003 12:29 PM

sorry i couldnt find sti...

also i tell a noob friend of mine whos also in this forum that driver is what matters (60%) even if you have a wrx 5.6 0-60 you can still beat the m3 e36 if you know how to drive that shit.

he once beat a wrx with his 328IS, and thinks he owns all wrx cars. the dude behind the wrx ( had to be the newer models cuz of the bug eyed head lights) didn't know how to drive for shit cuz usualy a four wheel drive wrx gets a very nice boost at start and its hard to see it lose to a 98 328is (0-60 6.3). But hey, its the driver that mattters.

For the STi to win, the driver would have to drop the clutch from about 6000RPM, and the M3 driver would have to make at least one mistake. I come to this conclusion just from the mag numbers.

So unless they are ABUSING the poor Subie, the M3 would win.

mags 0-60
WRX sti > 4.8
E46 m3 > 4.6

not a huge diff IMO

Bigbore 11-13-2003 02:36 PM

i`d like to see it videotaped. :)

btw, shouldn't the bmw m3 csl be faster than the regular ones?? they removed alot of weight (ac, radio etc)

x ray before talking learn some shit and stop posting mag numbers here.

an e46 m3 will beat an sti 90% of the time. the other 10% is when the driver of the m3 makes a mistake and when the sti gets a huge launch at 6000+ rpm.

mystikal is right on the money.

i admit an sti will beat an e36 m3, but an e36 m3 will beat a normal wrx the same way an e46 m3 will beat an sti.

(any ways, y r u so worried about it, you donlt even have a wrx):D

Supercharged Y the hate???

i failed to see WHERE in my posts i said that i own a WRX???
and no im not worried. Yes, i am a fan of wrx and wrx STI as much as i like bmw's (you know it *wink*). This post was meant to gather ideas. I wanted to see what the rest of you think about the whole VS thing.

I totally disagree with you when you say the e46 m3 will beat the STI 100% of the times. If so, bring up some proof and i would be glad to hear it. I dont care if STI wins or loses i just want to hear what others say about the two compairsons.
