how do i remove wood trim?
How do I remove the wood trim inside an e36? It doesn't look great and is cracking. Is it easy to remove and what is behind there?

best thing to do with wood trim is sand it down, and paint it any color you want!
on a black interior i'd suggest black!

I mean under the it the original plastic? will it be missing a plastic cover. Ok, so my q is...was the wood trim replacing a stock plastic piece or is it just an add on?

Soldo 11-07-2003 05:35 PM

i believe its a replacement for the plastic!

8500 RPM 11-07-2003 05:37 PM

oh i shouldn't just rip it off. doh!

thats a HELLLL NO!
i'm tellin you, if you can fix the cracks do so, and then just paint it, looks a LOT better than even the plastic trim, what car did you end up picking up, i know you were looking for an M3, find one!?

8500 RPM 11-07-2003 06:09 PM

It's either the M3 or the Integra Type-R. Yeah, I know, I know, 2 different cars...but they are 2 different prices. I got a quote for the m3 and full coverage will be $5000/yr. I am 24.

Well they're both VERY good choices, both are outta the box track cars, for the most part. The only thing to watch out for when it comes to TYPE's are the high km on them, make sure a compression check is done on that car before purchasing, cause peak hores all the way at a 7grand redline, its always has to be pused in order for the power to be felt!
So what car are you dealing with that has the wood trim?!

8500 RPM 11-07-2003 06:42 PM

...oh that's the m3 i am considering.
