You don't need the tool. Get a 32mm and wack it really hard with a hammer a few times. I've never needed the tool. The belt tension has enough tention to hold for a quick hard wack to losen the fan clutch.

the 32mm wrench is to thick to wedge in depending on the model you have whether earlier or later. What I did was I machined/planed a 32mm wrench down
to make it thin enough to fit. However you will still need something to hold the water pump pulley. I used a small wodden block or pry bar and wedge this between the pulleys to hold it from spinning while tapping the wrench. You may or may not get away with the pulley NOT turning. But if it does..no amount of hard whacking with the hammer is gonna remove it.

the other thing you can do is go to Sheridan Mall in Toronto. (Jane st/Wilson ave) there is a tool guy downstairs who has all kinds of stuff. He should carry that for the M20 engine. it comes as a set. but I think it's around 100.00

Look up the part number on Pelican and call the dealer. 30$ and it will be there next day.

Princess auto has the 32mm wrench thin enough for this. $20

You just need to use a thin screw driver and thread it between two bolts to hold the fan in place

make a tool yourself:
- buy a piece of 1.5" flatbar
- drill a hole a little larger than the bolt on the pulley
- contour the edge of the flatbar that will come into contact with central part of the pulley
- you could drill another hole on the flatbar to line up with another bolt for a more secure hold

mine works awesome!

This.

I have an E30 and I found that the 32mm wrench from Princess Auto fit perfectly. I had no problem removing it by hand. Remember, its a reverse thread, so it doesn't need to be super tight to begin with.

Another wrench that fits well is the UltraPro 32mm, but its a little more expensive.
