How much do you think it's worth?

Hi guys,

I am thinking of parting away with my car. It's 2003 BMW M3 with 285k on it. It drives no problems, no rust or scratches. It was stolen from me couple of years ago and found couple of weeks later. Also, had a minor rear end accident that was fixed professionally. How much do you think I could get for it, if anything?

Thanks:)

Damn. Theft recovery, accident history, high mileage. I wouldn't expect much... 10K if you're lucky, sorry dude :(

$500? or just scrap it...

danilam3 03-07-2014 01:34 PM

10k would be nice:) I guess I will have to drive it for a bit longer until it breaks down and I scrap it. As i've always been maintaining the car properly, it might take years until it dies...:)

Reason for parting ways with it?

wut? i'm sure someone will give you 10K for it if its in decent shape.

why would you scrap an m3?

WTF kind of advice is that? The car is worth money even with a theft recovery and accident....may not be a highly desirable daily driver but as a track car or a car to beat on it would get scooped up quickly if selling for a decent price.

Also wondering why you want to part ways with this car? High kms is no reason to be afraid of that engine if it was maintained as you claim.

No rust and no scratches? Was the vehicle completely repainted after the accident or theft? If still original paint the body sounds pretty mint.

If you decide to sell for $500 or scrap the car let me know, I will drive to you and pick it up with a trailer and $1000 even after you get in another accident and you live in BC.

Drive the damn thing till the wheels fall off!*rockout*

Where are all the E46M3 fanboys that were busting balls for driving these in the winter? This is a perfect candidate for year round fun. Don't let the mileage scare you, I'm planning on driving mine well past what yours is at, hell put 10k on mine since October through the "worst winter ever."

The reason is pretty simple. I saw a nice M6 for sale couple of days ago that I kind of liked.

As for the body - the car was stolen about 4 years ago. The driver's side was repainted. Rear and front bumpers repainted also. No rust whatsoever. We are lucky in BC in a sense that we have no snow/salt on the roads in winter:)

its a 4-6 wholesale, 7-9K car retail.

Just returned from BMW store in downtown Vancouver. They are giving me 7k for the car. Checked out the 2007 m6. Although I liked the car, I am not a big fan of smg transmission:( will probably look for another m3. Or 1m?

Sometimes dealer will show you more for your trade then its really worth. Simply put they show you more for your trade instead of showing you a discount on the car that you're buying. The important number is the final number.

A nice V8 E90 M3 manual transmission is what I would go for as a daily driver.
