My summer trip down the PCH. 7,652 kms of M Coupe greatness
I don't see a section for trips or pictures or anything, so I figure here is good!
I had a fantastic road trip with my dad in the Coupe this September. We went down to tour a few warships and see the San Diego Naval Yards. Stopped at a few places along the way as well. And absolutely tore up the ENTIRE Pacific Coast Highway. It's incredible. 7,652 kms in 91 hours of driving.
Facebook friends have all the pics, but I'll put a few up here.
Mt St Helens
Oh god I love Red Pandas so much. The San Diego Zoo was amazing.
Next summer, go drive this highway. It's perfect.
My dad at the Corkscrew.
Iowa's main battery.
RMS Queen Mary. We stayed there for a night. It was pretty damn cool.
A Corsair aboard Midway
We got forced off the highway in Montana because of this. My 295/35 AD08s didn't like it much.
St Helens again.
Oregon really is a beautiful place
The Redwoods come right to the edge of the highway.
USS Ronald Reagon (and USS Carl Vinson) were also in port as well. Nimitz-class supercarriers.
Nala, from the San Diego Zoo. I wish I had more pics of the Red Pandas, but they're pretty lazy... just ridiculously cute.
awesome pics man, car looks great too!
Great pics, thanks for sharing!
Snow in september!? Where were you guys at that point?
Driving the PCH is something every gearhead should do at least once!
Through California the twistiest bits are the most backlogged with tourists, so you can't drive too enthusiastically much of the time, but given the view and the crazy, fall-off-a-cliff-because-there-is-no-guardrail turns, it's fun regardless.
Congrats on the trip, and the awesome ride!
Going in September eliminated the tourists... The road was reasonably empty.
