E46 330ci Paint Correction
Here is another write up of a job I just did today on a 330ci. The paint was in pretty rough shape. FG400 saved me a lot of time!
Sorry about the poor white balance in the daytime photos :P
Started with a rim/tire/wheel well cleaning:
The engine bay wasn't too dirty but I gave it a good cleaning and dressed the plastic bits with G6 HyperCoat. Gives the perfect OEM look.
Washing time. Always with the two bucket method and Mr. Pink! I also scrubbed years of grime on the exhaust tips.
Went over the whole car with Riccardo Blue Clay. There was a massive amount of overspray on the passenger side.
Some pictures of damage:
Near perfect correct on the trunk. To achieve perfection would of required another day of work.
What a mess of overspray and scrubbing marks.
Leftover streaks are polish. Wish I saw this on the camera.
Applied Jetseal109 and then topped with some wax.
Some finished photos. I always end up finishing in the dark...
Paint is gleaming!
I'm quite happy with the results.
It almost looks photoshopped it looks so good in the pictures....*rockout*
This is my father-in-laws car, I recommended Kurt to him because I know how anal he is when it comes to cars (even other peoples cars :D) and saw the work he had done previously so we knew it would be in the right hands.
It's definitely a process, I have a new appreciation for the amount of time and work it takes to make this kind of project successful. I would highly recommend Kurt to anyone thinking of getting this kind of work done, the attention to detail (hehe, get it?) and the attitude he posesses during the job would make any outsider believe that it was his own car he was working on.
Nice job! I'll need one or two cars done before Bimmercruise, let me know if you are up to the challenge! And I also got an AC line for you if you still need it! *th-up*
Looks good kurt, if you weren't so far i'd have you do the M3. I'm getting lazy.
