People spend $15++K on cars with rolled back milage, that have almost 300K Km, or $12K on Salvage cars that blow engines in 6 months, so why not spend $20 and just save the trouble! lol *th-up*

Derek 08-07-2013 12:16 AM

Because 20k+ for a 10 year old M3 with 80,000kms + is ridiculous lol

I bought my cab for $16,500 with 150,000kms on it 2 years ago!

Eurostyle 08-07-2013 12:25 AM

Age has nothing to do with it! A clean E30 M3 would go for more! So people must be CRAZY!!!! ;)

It is what it is; if you want clean and original, you gotta pay! Or just pay less for something beat up, and pay for it later. *th-up*

T.Dot_E30 08-07-2013 07:41 AM

Considering good condition e36 Ms still go for close to 9-10k. I don't think $20k is unreasonable for a good 100-150k mileage example.

High 20s is out of the question unless it has like 50k on it. But your probably not the type of buyer that will pay more for a car like that.

Just keep looking, I don't see a reason to cry about prices just because you don't like them. The market is what it is, sellers are free to ask whatever they want. It just means they won't sell or take longer. Some are okay with that.

Lol sounds like someone I know...if I put all six new crank bearings in my motor for $1200 I'm still ahead.!!*th-up*

The local market dictates what the car is worth. If it's out of your budget, too bad... so sad. LOL!

The last one doesn't have a rebuilt title.. not sure where you read that.

For that kind of money I would consider to import a CSL. Defiantly prefer the e46 from the M3 lineup for 6 cylinder.

2bmwguy 08-07-2013 08:27 AM

Iv seen a black m3 with 300k and the guy wanted 15 k . I was shocked. Lol.

I can understand where you're coming from, but I think you just happened to buy at the right time.

I'm curious, what else would you buy that's comparable for that amount of money? Especially if you wanted a manual trans and 4 reasonable size seats? With some exclusivity?

I just did a search in the auto trader and I didn't find much that would interest me as a weekend toy. You're looking at Mustangs, Boxsters, Mazdaspeeds, other BMW models like the 335, etc.

I definitely agree there's better deals to be had by importing, but then you're paying with time and risk.

Someone should set up a business importing and brokering cars from Germany, the way the JDM guys do... I occasionally browse mobile.de for used cars and the prices are pretty good for BMWs and Porsches. ;)

NOTORIOUS VR 08-07-2013 09:44 AM

Sooo... guess you've never seen the market dictate the price have you.

Sounds like you're just cheap.

SiR 08-07-2013 09:46 AM

their prices are still up there yup..

but collectively we should all be hoping for higher prices ;)

No not cheap just don't get why the prices have jumped in the past year or so. You'd think the older a car gets with 80,000kms + wouldn't keep going up in price.
