Feeler: 1973 BMW m20 2002
Hey, just wanted to gauge some interest now that summer is around the corner.
I just finished the project but unfortunately I cant keep the car.
1973 Bmw 2002
FULLY restored (sand blasted, zinc coated, por 15 etc etc)
Motor is from a 1990 325is refreshed with some minor mods
Lots of parts too list. I can say I have bought almost everything Ireland engineering has for this car :)
Interior redone by new image, sparco seats, schroth harnesses, sparco steering.
If you are truly interested feel free to email me at
if you have any questions feel free to ask.
The weather was not that great today but here are a couple pictures I took.
More to come when the weather permits.

Oh wow, this car has come a long way since I saw it last! Nice stuff, post more pics! :)

For $40k that was a labor of love only, sometimes love hurts.

I have stopped to admire your car before seeing this post. My kids' daycare is around the corner. Does it have air conditioning? Looks like it is setup for track. Is it too harsh for a daily driver?

Bainze 04-21-2013 04:45 PM

It has definitely been a long project.
Unfortunately no modern amenities in this 2002 lol.
Its not the most comfortable daily driver, I see it as a car that you can drive to the track have your fun and drive home. Street legal track car ;)
It handles like a go-kart and im surprised how many heads this little guy turns.
I went and washed the car today here are some more pictures.

Is the hood an Ireland Engineering part? I am still on the fence where to get a fiberglass hood for mine...

Bainze 04-21-2013 07:00 PM

Thanks jay, it does boogie :)
Yeah, the hood and trunk are fiberglass from Ireland. They have two versions, racing and my version which are a little thicker but still night and day compared to the stock hood and trunk.

I am just wondering, maybe future buyer will be interested in this too, what kind of brakes are used in this beast ? :)

Bainze 04-22-2013 07:50 PM

Thank you vincenthclam!
So, let me give some information about the suspension as well as the brakes.
22mm front and rear sway bars. All bushings including the motor and diff are poly.
Reinforced front and rear trailing arms. Shortened Tii struts sleeved with hypercoil springs and bilstein shocks paired with camber kits. Rear carrera sleeved shocks with Carrera springs.
As for brakes, it has Tii brake booster and master cylinder. The front brakes are vented 323i disks on tii hubs, paired with e12 four piston calipers. Rear disk conversion includes machined tii hubs with vw mk4 rear calipers, mk1 gti front rotors with wilwood bias valve mounted on the dash. All stainless braided hoses. Oh and E21 handbrake cables :)
