I need to get my summer's balanced before I put them on.. Anyone know of place with a Hunter (or any good suggestions) in the Manotick or Bell's Corners area?

Hey every last I actually work for a mobile tire services company and we actually come to your house and do everything right n the spot. Link should be in my signature. We have great feedback from anyone who's cars we have worked on and we are enthusiasts ourselves. We treat customers cars better then if we even owned them ourselves.

So... Kanata Rim and Tire have a roadforce.. $40 for balancing or $140 for the roadforce.

Does that seem right?

$140 for balancing?!?

seems pricey to me...

everlast 04-18-2013 11:00 AM

I thought so. Maybe that's the going rate for the roadforce machine?

Regular wheel balancing (up to and including 16 inch wheels ) where match mounting is not required is 12.00 per wheel plus 1.75 per wheel for weights.

Match mounting up to and including 16 inch tires is 10.00 extra per wheel.

Regular balancing without match mounting on 17 inch and larger wheels is 15.00 per wheel plus 1.75 per wheel for weights.

Match mounting on 17 inch and larger wheels is 15.00 extra per wheel.
Match Mounting = Road Force Balancing

That's WAY less than $140...

Well, they're 18 inch wheels, so ($15+15) * 4 plus wheel weights makes $140 sound about right actually.

ha, guess you're right!

I dropped them off at Kanata wheels.. They're try to balance them first, and examine them for true-ness, then call me if they need to be roadforce balanced. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the all the replies.

It took until Friday at 6pm for them to balance four wheels, but charged me $40 and they're smooth, so yay!

beem3r 04-22-2013 12:20 PM

Wow, that's a long time to balance some wheels, no?

I have to get my fronts re-done, but I'd rather not wait multiple days

everlast 04-22-2013 12:32 PM

The place was god damn crazy.. 40 cars parked all around, tires stacked to the ceiling. It's their 'busy time'. If I'd pressured them I'm sure it would have been done faster, but since I didn't, they fixed a leak in a bead for no charge and apologized for the delay.

Out on the highway today I can say that the tires are a lot harder than my winters, so I feel everything little blip in the road, but they're smooth.
