2 questions for the price of 1!
Hi guys!

My first question is, where could I buy some bmw coolant fluid around gatineau/ottawa excluding bmw dealerships

Second question, I'm looking to change my vanos in my 94' 325ic since it sounds like a diesel engine
I'm probably going to buy it off of dr.vanos, but I want to know if there is a independent bmw mechanic around gatineau/ottawa who would be able to do this

Hope to hear from you bmw guys! :)

1) BBW (no joke) in Alymer. The owner is an awesome guy, very competitive prices. I get most of my maintenance parts there.

Didn't know about BBW, i'll go there next time!

I usually order my parts online...
BTW, where are you in gatineau?

quebexicain 04-11-2013 10:07 PM

Oh yeah I forgot about BBW, I called today to see if they have some bmw coolant fluid and they do! =) Thanks Lucidy

Ju le new: I'm in hull, I've seen you once drive by I think! Nice e36 if it was you! =)
I also order most of my parts online on, awesome deals!

haha yeah I'm in L'Ange-Gardien, just north of the highway. We should meet up for a shoot or something, it's always fun to meet other bmw heads

dannyb 04-13-2013 11:36 AM

Sure, you going to the cruise?

quebexicain 04-13-2013 12:32 PM

buzzdmonkey, Shipping depends on the weight but usually goes around 30$ to 50$
On most parts I've bought on this site I have saved even with the shipping
They also have lots of kits which includes lots of parts for a great price!
Last summer I bought the whole front end kit for my e36, bushings, control arms, links etc plus all 4 discs, pads and stainless steel brake lines for 750$ with shipping. Here with my mechanic who gets good deals, would of cost me around 1500$

quebexicain 04-13-2013 12:35 PM

Yeah a meet would be nice! If it can be nice outside for a change lol

ju_le_new 04-13-2013 02:47 PM

Yeah, I'll probably be there for the cruise!

bmdoubleya 04-14-2013 03:00 PM

I'm in Aylmer. There will be a cruise on Sunday the 28th and the bmw club is having one on the 26 th I think

Finally got the vanos replace by one ordered from Dr Vanos, no more diesel sounding engine! =D
Now I'm struggling trying to replace the fan blade and the fan clutch..The damn bolt won't loosen up! >:(
Anyone around have the special tool to hold on to the water pump screws?!
I already got the 32mm wrench and tried with a flat head screw driver, but without success! :(

quebexicain 05-29-2013 09:56 PM

Anyone know where I could possibly rent or buy the fan removal tool for the e36 around ottawa/gatineau?!

it's reverse thread - are you sure you're spinning it the right way? I was able to do it by locking it with a screwdriver.
