if you're racing, you probably want a better setup than that

+1. There would be no way to roll the car to let it settle if it were on stands like that.

While I agree that setup looks kind of hokey, so does mine. I have a set of Ruggle'scales (can be seen here - http://forums.pelicanparts.com/6884172-post1.html) that also uses bathroom scales.

I have had many track cars over the years, and corner balancing is important, and something that you cannot set once, and leave. I also see alignments like that, as there is no "perfect alignment" for a car. There are just too many variables. An experienced alignment guy who knows the use of your car will get you in the right ball park, but it is all a guesstimate.

If you do any mods to the suspension, you should re-balance your car.

I will post another thread, as I am aquiring a Euro-spec M3 for a summer/track car, and I would like some input.
