Im thinkin RB's. Wait, what..???
Some of you might know this car.

I started working on the car by basically doing maintenance and other issues. As time went on I decided to bag it and throw some 10's on it. Got kind of bored with the m20 motor, so i pulled it, sold my wheels and started fresh.

Now that were all caught up, here we go... (apologies for the shitty cell pics)

Picked up this beauty on saturday and started tearing into it to see what i got.

I was a little annoyed finding broken plugs and solenoids here and there, but that changed when i got further into it. Turns out underneath the heat shield was this little beauty.

Turns out the previous owner did the timing belt, a clutch kit (with a lightened flywheel), im guessing he did the head gasket, and a bigger turbo.

Looked up the turbo and it ended up being an HKS/Garrett GT2540, which apparently is capable of 20psi and 400 hp.

Anyways, heres the rest of my pics from my test fit the other night. The motor is sitting a bit high at the back due to my shitty engine leveler (which i took back and got a different one)

This weekend i wil be putting the tranny back on and starting to make my mounts. The wiring is being made as we speak, so when i get it mounted in it shouldn't be long till she's running.

If anyones confused, that is indeed an rb25 in a 1984 325e.

Ooo DET or TT? Not too versed on the Nissan stuff

Should be a wicked build. Any documentation on it? Problems you're expecting?

Det, as far as I know there's only a handful of guys that have done this. And every one of those is in Australia, Which gives them the advantage of rhd.

The only solid documentation is Newman, he put an rb26 into an e30. But he sunk in way more money than I have, and he utilized his engineering background to help him.

Issues so far are basically everything lol, main problems so far are the rad, fans, downpipe and Intercooler. Most of the other issues are worked out ie. wiring, brakes, mounts, driveshaft.

Hmmm -- rad and fan shouldn't be that bad... Using a mechanical fan or electric? Edit: ya looked at that picture and I guess mechanical is out of the question with that clearance :p

There's a cool parts guy in Ajax who has a Nissan swap too... I think it was SR20 actually can't remember his username tho off the top of my head.

I always wanted to do the 1JZ or 2JZ swap. I will one day, maybe into my E36.

And Cormier, you're thinking of Steve. He has a SR20DET.

Is that the guy in scrapedcrusaders? His car is pretty rad, I saw it at vagkraft. I was looking into 1j's for the longest time. There's even a highly expensive kit you can buy lol. But I can't afford that motor, especially the parts.

It's an rb25, valve cover is wrong.

Decided im going to mod my stock intake mani to have a side port rather than the middle. It wont be as good for a/f mixture, but it'll due till i can afford a greddy manifold.

Also, tomorrow or the next day i will be putting the tranny back on so i can fit the engine and mock up mounts. After that, if the wiring is done ill be getting it running while the warranty is still in affect.

Got a couple things figure out over the weekend.

Ended up going to the wreckers on saturday and picking up a suzuki swift brake booster for 25 bucks. Didnt bother picking up the master because the bore is too small, but i will be calling wilwood on monday to ask their opinion on the compact master series.

This week i will be making the mounts for the engine and tranny. The wiring should also be done hopefully after christmas so i can start this thing!
