e30 LSD diff
 

Just picked up a "new" LSD diff for my 325, as I will be running it this winter!

Owner didn't know the ratio, after looking up online it seems like it is a 2.93 with mechanical LSD. It'll be good for crusing on the highway but will I miss my 3.73?

Can't wait to put it in and try it!

if you have the stock m20, you will definitely miss your 3.73.

I swapped my 3.73 for a 3.46 and drove for a few months like that before I did my 24v swap, and even the 3.46 felt like driving in molasses with the stock m20.

Ok , well I'm rebuilding another 3.73LSD anyway for the futur and it wasn't ready and I got this one for cheap so I jumped on it and it should be fine for this winter!

Ya its not like you're doing much spirited driving in the winter anyway, and if you wanna get sideways in the snow a 2.93 will do just fine anyway.

I had a regular ol' eta with the 2.93LSD. It was perfect.

On the bright side it's geared to hit 310km/h with the stock rev limit. The downside is that getting to half that will take an eternity.

2000rpm at 100 in 5th. lol

I installed it yesterday. Feels like I lost my first gear and have a new 6th gear, RPM dropped from 3100ish down to 2500 at 120km/h.

Unfortunately, it is making a strong grinding noise, even after driving from Ottawa to Qc city

Yeah, I was about to change it, but it looked perfect. I'll check it again to make sure it's still decent, as it might had shit just sitting at the bottom...

Slap a big turbo on it and you'll be able to hit 310 *shiner*

My '84 has a 2.76 and I don't mind it at all.

turbo... maybe one day when I get my own garage.

How much does a m20 turbo build cost ?

Can be done for $2000, budget for $5000.

Thinking a 4.44 would be nice jump! 6,000 RPM at 120 on the hwy!

the 2.93 isnt so bad, I have it in my car as im preparing for boosting it in the future.. the highway is a nice cruise, and you can hit 175 on Mosport GP track ;) ... its definitly doesnt have the pepiness as before but some LSD does wonders aroud corners ..
