Squeaky Window Solved

1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone ever had that crazy squeaky window on the passenger or driver side. I had my car serviced at the dealer and they stopped the noise for maybe 2 weeks before it came back. I gave up and just let it squeal until one it I tried to lower my passenger side window and all I heard was Crunch, Crack, Pop. No more more power window. I took the entire system apart and found my issue. Here are the Pics. Despite what everyone has been told, I tried the Gummy fledge and other non petroleum based lubricants, it was just a rusty cable. The Cable finally snapped and I had to buy the entire unit. The Dealership quoted me $350, but i got it from BavAuto.com fir $180.

I want to remind anyone who attempts this the Negative lead to the battery must be removed, and the window should be lowered so you can access the main fastener holding the glass in place.

Here are the last pics, I hope this helps everyone out. I don't often do this but I figured if it drove me this crazy I think of the BMW Z4 owners need to know how to fix it. The last pics is the new window assembly, it does not come with a motor so just swap your existing one across, its just 3 fasteners.
