brake rotors and pads
Hi guys,
I'm heading over to the border to go shopping and thought I would pick up some car parts. My service light is lighting up green for the brakes so I decided that I'll save some money and pick up some rotors and pads while I'm over there. When I'm ordering online I notice that the US model have rotors have two different size rotors for the year 2007. For models from 2007 to 9/07 with 300mm diameter front discs. For models from 9/07 to 2008 with 312mm diameter front discs. 1)What size is our rotors here in Canada? 2)What kind of brake pads are the OEM ones? Ceramin or semi-metallic? 3)Any suggestions on what brake pads to get? |

But in general, I believe 07 cars made before Sept (09/07) use the 300 while those afterwards use 312. It depends more on when the car was made rather than for which market. Pretty sure the OEM ones are NOT ceramic. A lot of guys typically get Hawk HPS / Akebonos mainly to reduce brake dust as most do agree that the OEM are actually pretty decent pads, they just generate a lot of dust. Really depends how you intend to use your car (ie. track, strictly street driving, etc). |
