E38 v8 low rpm hesitation and rough idle

Changed my coils and plugs and no difference below 2000-1500rpm it seems to sputter after it is warmed up and has a rough idle pls help :)

My first guess would be intake manifold gaskets. Try spraying some carb cleaner around them with the car running and see if the idle changes. Also check your intake boot and all vacuum lines for cracks/leaks.

Pull Codes!

When I was having similar issues, it happened to be my CPS (Cam Position Sensor)

Ive seen excessive cps gap and bad cps do that before.

I read the codes and it is saying that it has a random misfire in cylinders 1-4

civic_eater 11-01-2012 10:39 PM

Could that be caused by a bad cps?

740-iLL 11-02-2012 09:37 AM

Bad CPS would come up as a bad CPS.

Random misfire could be caused from a few different things.

What were the codes that you got?
